A meta-analysis of 6 controlled studies has found that lemon balm can help anxiety and depression. Lemon balm significantly reduced anxiety scores compared to a placebo. It seems to work better for acute anxiety than chronic anxiety.

Lemon balm also significantly improved depression scores. And this time it work well for both acute and chronic depression. This meta-analyis adds a safe, gentle herb for mental health.
